Belonging as part of a faith community is more than only presence; it is knowing you are valued, needed, known, and loved as fellow members of the Body of Christ. At East Goshen Mennonite Church, our belonging is not determined by our backgrounds or situations, but by our common vision of Passionately Following Jesus and our commitments to being transformed by God and empowered by the Holy Spirit to love, live, invite, and equip as disciples of Jesus.

Date: January 28, 2024

Speaker(s): Steve Hochstetler Shirk

Series: Each Member Belongs

Passage(s): 1 Timothy 3:2-3, Titus 1:7-9

The Greek term used combines the words for love + stranger/ foreigner/ outsider. Welcoming someone across lines of culture and even language begins in the heart.
